Our Story

We met on Hinge, but it did not take long for things to feel easy and natural. When Austin spotted Nora in full Bears gear and asked how a Wisconsin girl became a Bears fan, her answer was simple: “My daddy raised me right!”

Even with Nora’s busy schedule and occasional delayed replies, Austin patiently kept the conversation going. By our first date at Café Ba-Ba-Reeba, it felt like we had known each other much longer. Dinner turned into hours of college stories, watching the Cubs, and nonstop laughter. Something felt different from the start.

As we grew closer, we became part of each other’s families, welcomed with love on both sides. Our little family grew, too. Austin’s cats, Lilo and Riley, became part of our shared world, and after losing Riley, we welcomed Wayne into our home. Together, we built a life filled with patience, support, laughter, and love.

A few weeks before the proposal, we traveled to Baltimore with Nora’s family for a Bears game. Nora joked afterward that it would have been the perfect time to propose, unaware that Austin was already planning a surprise with her parents and brother Carlos.

The moment came during a big family celebration. While everyone laughed, played games, and caught up, Austin nervously waited for his moment. After a family speech, Nora’s dad looked at him and simply said, “Now.” There were tears, laughter, shaking hands, and the easiest “yes.” Surrounded by the people we love, it felt like the perfect beginning to our next chapter.
